Facelift

My mom is having the house re-modeled piece by piece. The bay window was added over the summer. The house used to have a brick front. But when they installed the bay window all the brick fell off. She is replacing the brick with wooden shingles.

Megan's picture

Megan had some fun playing with my camera phone. I can't believe how big Zoe is getting.

New map!

We hit the jackpot at Costco today when I found three illustrated maps. One of the Ancient World, one of World Animals, and one of the Prehistoric World. Cool, right? The best part is that they are covered in little cartoon-like illustrations. Megan isn't especially interested in the Ancient World map (but it does include some illustrations of mythical creatures, so her dragons are represented). But she loves the dinosaurs and animals. Our living area has a long hallway that is perfect for giant maps. We already had our US Map and World Map hung on the wall. These are awesome additions. I still need a solar system map and I've love to find an illustrated one similar to the ones I bought today.

Baby in a box

Zoe was confused about the baby stuck in a box.

My little witches

We were at Target today. We couldn't pass up a chance of dress up in the Halloween aisle. There were two people who were trying on full body chicken costumes. They were laughing so hard they could barely walk. I love Halloween. It is my favorite holiday.

Zoe's tailgate party

Zoe wanted to sit in the trunk (who doesn't??!!). Just as I took the picture she picked up a Kemper Rootbeer and showed it to me.

Zoe in Duke's pen

The Very Big Bunny was enjoying some romping time in the living room, so I cleaned his cage. Of course, Zoe had to run in and shut herself in! My kid and weird places....

Life is awesome!

Hola! from the Montoya girls!

Here doggie, doggie

Megan loves dogs. We have a book called The Encyclopedia of the Dog. It has good pictures and descriptions of different dog breeds.

Hand in hand

When Zoe isn't exploring, she really loves to hold Megan's hand.

Zoe the red toed toddler

This is the blood oxygen meter Zoe had to wear in the hospital. It glowed all through the night and let us know she was doing just fine. Between this and the IV tubes, transfering Zoe from me to Dennis and back again turned into an odd ballet of cord rearranging.

Zoe's first hospital stay

We are at Dornbecher now and expect to be discharged tomorrow. Zoe is fine, but she seems to have inherited Dennis' asthma. Megan has been super awesome and thought riding in an ambulance was a grand adventure.
The box of kleenex was for me.

don't fence me in

Megan and Zoe help Dennis put our new art/toy cupboard together.

zoe tests megan's bed

There is something about Megan's big bed that facinates Zoe. She climbs in and pretends to go to sleep at least once a day.

megan's new jammies

Prize!

Megan has developed a love of these toy machines. I'm trying to remember to keep an extra fifty cents in my pocket so she can try her luck when the mood strikes. Personally, these machines stress me out because they are so rigged. But Megan loves them and usually comes away with a prize.

Following the rules

My mom has strict "no food outside the kitchen" rules. The girls are following the rule exactly.

My girl

Running in the sunroom

Zoe randomly starts running in circles. Then she starts doing push ups, stretches, and counts to ten in Korean. Can you tell she watches Megan's Taekwondo classes?

Zoe at the zoo

The dreaded rein-bat
